* 추수감사주일(Thanksgiving Day) – harvest festival

한 해의 수확을 끝내고 지금까지 베풀어 주신 하나님의 은혜에 감사드리는 절기입니다. 미국으로 이주한 청교도들이 1621년 가을 플리머드에서 행한 것이 기원이 되었습니다. 한국교회에서는 1904년에 처음으로 추수감사절이 지켜졌고, 1914년에 와서 11월 셋째 주일로 정해져 오늘에 이르고 있습니다.

*마가복음 6장 41절-44절

41.예수께서 떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 가지사 하늘을 우러러 축사하시고 떡을 떼어 제자들에게 주어 사람들에게 나누어 주게 하시고 또 물고기 두 마리도 모든 사람에게 나누시매

42.다 배불리 먹고

43.남은 떡 조각과 물고기를 열두 바구니에 차게 거두었으며

44.떡을 먹은 남자는 오천명이었더라

(Mark Chapter 6 Verse 41 through 44)

41. Taking the five loaves and the two fish/ and looking up to heaven,/ he gave thanks and broke the loaves./ Then he gave them to his disciples/ to distribute to the people. /He also divided the two fish among them all.

42. They all ate and were satisfied,

43. and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls /of broken pieces of bread and fish.

44. The number of the men /who had eaten was five thousand.

Taking the five loaves- 다섯 개의 빵덩어리

*loaf –빵 한 덩어리 -> 두개이상 (loaves)

and the two fish-그리고 두 개(마리)의 물고기

and looking up to heaven,-그리고 하늘을 올려다 보았다

*look up – 위를 보다 , look in – 안을 보다, look out – 밖을 보다

he gave thanks- 그는 감사했다

and broke the loaves.-그리고 빵 덩어리들을 부수었다

*break (부서지다.깨지다)

동사변화 break–broke –broken

Then he gave them to his disciples- 그런후에 그리고나서 그는 그의 제자들에게 그것들을 주었다

*his disciples –그(예수님)의 제자들

to distribute to the people.-사람들에게 나누어주게끔

* distribute – 배부하다 배포하다 (모든 사람들에게 골고루 다 나누어주었다)

He also divided the two fish among them all.-그는 또한 두마리의 생선을 그 모든 사람들 사이에서 나누었다

* divid - (여러부분들로) 나누다 나뉘다

동사변화 divid – divided - divided

* among – ~사이에 ~중에 (셋이상의)

They all ate and were satisfied, - 그들은 모두 먹었고 만족했다

* eat (먹다)

동사변화 eat –ate -eaten

* satisfied – 만족하는 * unsatisfied, dissatisfied (불만족스러운)

43.)

and the disciples picked up- 그리고 제자들은 주웠다

* pick up – 집어 들다

twelve basketfuls- 가득찬 12바구니

*basketful – 한 바구니 가득

of broken pieces of bread and fish.- 물고기와 빵의 부서진 조각들로

*piece –조각, 작은 조각, 부스러기

44.)

The number of the men- 남자의 숫자가 (사람들의 숫자)

* man- (성인)남자. 인류 men- 남자들. 사람들

who had eaten was five thousand. -먹었던 남자들. 오천명이었다

*had eaten – have +p.p (현재완료) -먹었다
